One of a kind and thoughtfully designed, The Wayfarer Trench reimagines heritage textile craftsmanship through a striking blend of rich colour, intricate weaving and contemporary tailoring.
Crafted from a luxurious Banarasi silk sari, this piece features a deep emerald-green base illuminated by delicate silver woven motifs scattered throughout. Traditionally woven into the fabric rather than embroidered onto the surface, these motifs catch the light subtly as the wearer moves, creating a soft shimmer that speaks to the artistry of Banaras weaving.
The design is elevated by magnificent silver Banarasi border panels that frame the hem, pockets, cuffs and waist tie. Intricate floral and geometric patterns woven into these heritage borders celebrate the textile's original craftsmanship, while vibrant fuchsia piping introduces a modern contrast that sharpens the trench's clean, tailored silhouette.
Lightweight yet substantial, the trench drapes beautifully whether worn open or cinched at the waist. The combination of luminous silk, heritage weaving and bold colour makes it an effortless statement piece for winter layering, occasion dressing and elevated everyday wear.
Size: Medium (UK 10–12)
Fabric: Banarasi Silk Sari with Silver Woven Motifs
The beauty of this textile lies in its balance of subtlety and opulence. Tiny silver motifs are dispersed across the emerald silk like scattered jewels, while the dramatic border work grounds the piece with a sense of history and grandeur. Every detail reflects the meticulous handloom traditions for which Banarasi textiles are renowned.
Styling Tip: Pair with cream knitwear and boots for sophisticated winter dressing, or style over tonal separates to allow the rich emerald silk, silver detailing and vibrant fuchsia accents to take centre stage.
As with every Sari for Change piece, this trench exists entirely one-of-one — thoughtfully reimagined from reclaimed heritage textiles and designed to be worn repeatedly, treasured and collected over time.
