Our Frill Kimono is a celebration of heritage, movement and modern femininity, designed as a one-of-a-kind statement piece that reflects the beauty of cultures in conversation. Crafted from upcycled heritage textiles, this piece brings together lustrous plum and silver brocade with contrasting black and violet floral panels, creating a rich interplay of pattern, texture and colour.

The flowing, open-front silhouette is framed by an intricately woven border, while cascading tiered frills fall through the back and sides, creating volume and graceful movement. Contrasting textile panels are woven throughout the design, giving the kimono its distinctive patchworked character while allowing the original sari patterns to remain part of its story. Inspired by Cape Malay women and the movement of textiles, people and traditions across the Indian Ocean, from South and Southeast Asia to the Cape.
