A one-of-a-kind reversible Raya shawl, handcrafted by Rayana from reclaimed silk sari cloth.
As founder of Sari for Change, Rayana rescues treasured sari remnants once worn and loved, selecting pieces for their softness, history, and enduring beauty. She then creates each Raya shawl herself - pairing contrasting silks, hand-stitching every join, and transforming precious fragments into something whole once more.
This piece brings together a rich claret silk scattered with delicate dotted motifs, framed by an ornate Banarasi-inspired border woven with silver-gold floral embroidery. It is paired with a warm rust silk reverse detailed with intricate heritage patterns and subtle metallic accents. Reversible by design, it offers two distinct expressions in one - regal depth on one side, sun-warmed richness on the other.
Shaped by Rayana’s hands from cloth that has been worn, weathered, mended, and loved, it reflects the resilience, sacrifice, and quiet beauty woven through motherhood.
Soft, featherlight, and fluid to drape, no two are ever alike.
